Our Favorite Date Nights

This post is just in time for Valentine's Day!! Braxton helped me think of some of our favorite date night ideas. We love going out and having fun, but we also love just hanging out on the couch laughing and watching movies. Here's a few of our favorite date nights:

Date Night #1: Staying In

One of our absolute favorite things to do is stay in and watch movies on the couch. Who doesn't love relaxing on the couch, in their PJ's, with a giant bowl of popcorn in their lap? So stay in, snuggle up with a blanket, and search Netflix (or RedBox) for a few movies for the all time best movie marathon. We like mixing up what kinds of movies we watch. We might start with a scary movie and then finish the marathon off with a comedy. Whatever suits your fancy.

Date Night #2: Fancy Food

This is the complete opposite of staying in while lounging in your PJ's. We don't go out to really nice restaurants very often, so when we do, I really enjoy dressing up a little and getting a nice glass of wine at dinner. We like to save nice restaurant dates for special occasions like birthdays, holidays, and anniversaries because we think it makes these dates a little more special.

Date Night #3: Weekend Getaway

Log into your favorite hotel app and search away. I like to use Airbnb when I search for places to stay. The prices are usually pretty good, and there are some really unique homes that are super fun to stay at instead of a typical hotel room. We also don't do weekend getaways very often, but when we do we usually stick to somewhere close to home. St. Louis is usually our go-to place. There's always a lot going on in bigger cities, so we usually find a concert, a baseball game, or another event and go on a little 2 day weekend around that event. Does that make sense? Anyway, we just try to find something going on so we aren't wandering around aimlessly looking for something to do (even though that's fun sometimes, so always leave a little room for spontaneity).

Date Night #4: Cooking Together

Ever since Braxton and I started dating, he's always loved helping me cook. He always offers to help, so we just started making cooking together a thing. It's fun to look up some new recipes and make them together.

Date Night #5: Bachelor Monday's

We LOVE Bachelor Monday's. We don't make any plans on Monday's during bachelor/bachelorette seasons, and we make sure we're home by 7 to plop down onto the couch and get caught up on all the drama. If you don't like the Bachelor/Bachelorette, you could always find another series that you like on Netflix or on TV. Just schedule a night of the week and a time and make sure you never miss it. It's nice to just hangout and talk about the drama in a show and laugh together. It's the little things, people. Oh #TeamCaelynn

These are just some of our favorites! Get creative, play board games, make a bucket list, discover a new restaurant together. There are so many fun things to do for date night instead of just going out to eat at your usual place. Get creative and have fun with date night :)
